THIS MONDAY, March 15, the County Council will hear public testimony on Council Bill–17. This bill modifies requirements for commercial solar installations including what is permitted on properties in the Agriculture Land Preservation Program. I believe these changes will lead to a glut of solar installations throughout the rural west, many on land that has already been preserved with taxpayer dollars, posing a threat to the agriculture industry and the rural character of the community.
